In Grenada for Christmas

Serenada, loaded with 'spirits,' returning to Grenada

We've had wonderful sails between Bequia and Grenada. We've not needed the iron genie, and the seas have been gentle. We stopped for a night in the Tobago Cays to visit with Mario & Francine on LeeLoo  who recently returned to the Caribbean. We hope to see them again 'up island.'

It is clearly high season now, as there were so many boats, and several mega yachts! We may have a baby boat, but we sure find ourselves in good company!

From the Tobago Cays, we sailed to St. George's in Grenada, and stayed there a couple of nights before rounding the corner to Grenada's south coast, where we now sit waiting for our children's visit :-).

We did have another boat issue - we lost output from our inverter. This meant that we couldn't recharge any of our electronics (phones, ipad, computers, or camera battery); and so we were using them sparingly (hence a hiatus from blogging). It took the two of us three days to figure it out, but we did manage to fix the problem. It was something simple, of course. The inverter was fine. The GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) receptacles kept tripping, because we had a ground fault (dah!). The salt air wears on everything, including our electrical and ground connections, some of which needed a good cleaning.

I have my nose in a book - A Dance with Dragons (5th in the Game of Thrones series) - and it's difficult to put down. I might just as well be lost at sea!

a good morning
(sailing, sipping coffee, and reading)

  1. As always following your blog. Enjoying your adventures. I am very happy for you and Gil and hope all your sailing days are calm.
We are doing the "grandTour" and traveling to all the kids homes this Christmas. I am still working casual at the hospital in a supervisor's role. There is only a small amount of snow and they are calling for rain - as long as it does not freeze I am happy. Just wanted to wish the both of you a Merry Christmas and great time with your kids and a wonderful New Year. Georgie
