Upstream on the Potomac River

We've been creeping upstream on the Potomac. These first two photos were taken shortly after leaving our anchorage in the Port Tobacco River. The Harry W. Rice Memorial Bridge, which spans the Potomac River can be seen in the distance, behind the line of crab pots. We are so thankful that crab pots are strung in long lines, as it makes getting through them a little less challenging. Below the floats are the crab pots, which is what you see the watermen pulling up and stacking forward on his boat.

We anchored upstream on Wades Bay where we walked the beach and found some shark teeth. There was alot of wildlife to be seen - blue heron (below), bald eagles, a deer, and some playful otters.

The colours are starting to come out.

Tonight for dinner we had catfish, and then what does Gil do? He catches 2 more! This photo's for Frankenfisherman.
