We <3 NY.
We’re lucky to be here. Gil & I could have been adrift
at sea in our dinghy! Until our arrival here, we’d just been rowing our dinghy
into shore. But the distance between our mooring ball and the dinghy dock here
in NYC called for lowering the outboard from Serenada’s rail onto the dinghy.
That was done quickly enough, and off we went to explore the city streets and
some of Central Park (after a shore shower, of course). The sun was down when
we decided to take the ‘family car’ back to the boat. *#@%(!^ thing wouldn’t
start?! Turns out, Captain Ron (aka Gil) …. by the way, if you’ve seen the
movie, you’ll know that Captain Ron didn’t have a crew mate… (I take no
responsibility for this) ….hadn’t filled the gas tank. “That was an
oversight” said Captain Ron (aka Gil)
later. I was ready to go looking for
another Captain, and in NYC it might have happened....
Thankfully, Jorge & Kim were there for us! We were rescued, and brought safely back to
our ‘home.’ The dinghy now has a full tank.
We’ve been sightseeing….
...and enjoying being tourists
