30th.May - 2nd.June, 2019 Norfolk to Deltaville

aircraft carriers in Norfolk, VA

The Star Spangled Banner startled us at 8am! It could be heard clearly over Willoughby Bay. Norfolk is a huge US Naval and Military Base, and this was obviously their call out for the day's start. Worked for us too... got us going.

As the weather continued to be ideal for sailing, we passaged north up the Chesapeake Bay to Deltaville,VA. This small town has four times more boats than people! We anchored in Jackson's Creek, a scenic and tranquil setting.

Our window of good weather closed, but we needed to stop for chores … Gil had some boat jobs he wanted to get to, and I was due for laundry and grocery shopping; and it was also time to refuel, pump out, fill our water tanks, and our propane bottles. So, here we stayed for a few days.
