Fort Lauderdale

Lake Sylvia anchorage

We’ve migrated a short distance south to an anchorage in Lake Sylvia, in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. It’s a great location, in the center of this city. I’ve heard it described as the yachting capital of the world, and as the Venice of America. Fort Lauderdale has over 300 miles of canals, channels and waterways.  The number and size of  the boats here are ridiculous! We’ll likely stay a few days.

chart shows canals++
(we're anchored in the lake at bottom left)

 can you find the people on board?
 this size yacht is NOT uncommon!

  1. I found the people on board. Is their boat in lieu of a house I wonder?
