Tuesday we sailed (and motor-sailed) from Canoe Neck Creek to Smith's Creek, further towards the mouth of the Potomac river.
We covered much more water than required to get there, as Gil wanted a fish dinner. So when we came across a "fish boil" as we've come to call them, the sails came down and Serenada became a fishing boat. While I was at the helm doing circles around the "fish boils," Gil tried his luck both trolling and casting for his dinner. He was trolling with a spoon (lure) and three swivels, and yet his line got badly twisted and tangled... it took us both at least a half hour to unravel it. Still, he persisted even through a drizzle of rain. When all was said and done, however, I took rib steaks out for dinner. Gil says the market is less frustrating than fishing.
Maybe Gil's luck would have been better if we were able to better our odds with multiple lines, as with this fishing boat.
So glad you enjoyed the Potomac & the yacht club.We found it to be a wonderful surprise too.
ReplyDeleteI counted 10 fishing poles on that boat! Funny picture Diana. : )
ReplyDeleteThat other fisherman should have just motored it, he'd surely snag something with all those lines in the water! Love the blog!
