This morning’s sunrise was stunning. It got me out of bed and up on deck, as I had to capture it with the camera so I could share with you J
We pulled up anchor just before 8 am. The guide book
suggested we do this next stretch of water (Bay & Neuse Rivers) early, when
the winds and waves are generally calmer, as apparently these waters can get choppy.
Misfortune has certainly left us, as we had very calm waters.... perfect for rowers.
on the lookout for dolphins
where's the horizon?
Scallops? or Shrimps?
someone's eager to pass
Beaufort Bridge ... almost there!
rowers racing in the Beaufort channel
The best thing about Beaufort was that Jorge & Kim were still there. They make us feel 'at home' as we share the same home port and many of the same friends back in Hawkestone. It was great to have them on board for dinner.
Jorge & Kim had plans to leave Beaufort the following morning, and rather than follow the ICW route which runs inshore, they had chosen to run outside for a while - from Beaufort to Masonboro. Gil & I had talked between ourselves about running outside at some point during our migration south, so we chose to tag along.
Your sunrise pictures rival the earlier ones we spoke of when you were on the Chesapeake. We will have to find out how you can license people to use them on some stock photography sites for extra $. : )
ReplyDeleteI check your blog every night before I go to bed. I look forward to reading your posts. I see that you had the Himinlayan Pink Salt on your dinner table. : )
