Too much fun and not enough blogging J It’s a quieter day today, so I’ll try to catch up ….
A week ago – last Friday – there was a black & white
party at Secret Harbour Marina. It was a post wedding party for a couple (Courtney
& ??? – my memory’s so bad) who captain & crew a large private
catamaran which is berthed here, and their invite was opened to us cruisers.
I haven’t danced since Georgetown in the Bahamas, so I was in! Gil was a party pooper, as was Joe’s Greg. So, Joe & I adopted Greg (from Simplicity II) as our date.

... do the locomotion...
We risked losing favour with our captains and our friend Shelley
(Greg’s better half). The music was great (no slow songs – yeah!) and we danced
the evening away. I literally danced until I couldn’t any longer J. It was so much fun.
The following day – Saturday – was hash day. The Grenada Hash House Harrier’s 848th
hash wasn’t too far from here, hosted by Sally’s Bar in St. David’s. A group of
us put on our hiking shoes and got them very, very muddy (a recurring theme).

Sunday was a “fun in the sun” day at Hog Island. Some time
was spent playing dominoes on the shady picnic tables, and some time was spent
cooling in the water; and all in fun company.

Monday saw US taking in a yoga class. Gil has been
participating! I give him a lot of
points for starting this at 67.
The credit must be given to Jeff on Truant 3, who himself never thought
he’d be doing yoga, but he is too. It’s just good for the body. Gil describes
his as analogous to a 2 x 4, but he’s hoping to change that.

Tuesday was Trivia Night at Prickly Bay Marina, about a
20min. walk from here. Teams of eight attempt to answer a set of 40 questions.
Who composed Madame Butterfly? Cavendish, Orofino & Lady Fingers are
varieties of what fruit? Axilla is the medical term for what body part? Yikes,
did I feel stupid; but the flip side is that you learn something new. No prizes
for our team, but the food and drink were good.
Wednesday saw US taking another yoga class. I’m still a
little shocked that Gil keeps coming.
We also visited some very cute cottages that Gwen found for her visiting
parents. We loved them. Now we’re working to switch our visiting family’s
accommodation over to them also.
Thursday a great bunch of us went to Mt. Carmel waterfalls
for a walk and picnic. The main trail took us to one of Grenada’s tallest
waterfalls; and an offshoot trail took us to a spot with sliding rocks into a
natural pool.

It’s been a great week in paradise for us. We are so very
fortunate to be able to live this life.
