Grenada offers so many options for trail hiking. With the
same trio of couples as last week, we elected this time to go to new heights J.
Grand Etang Lake is a volcanic crater lake, and there are
several hiking trails in that area, and so we decided to ride the city bus
there. Guilloume & Gwen had been there once before, and had taken the shoreline
trail, which they described as often ankle deep in mud; and so we chose a trail
that went up instead.
The photos tell the story…..
so very green
the effect of those easterly tradewinds .... reminds us of the muskokas
overlooking St. George's Harbour and Grande Case beach
Grande Etang crater lake
funky tree
closer look at Grande Case beach and St. George's anchorage
(can you see the boats at anchor?)
let's go there...
Lunch in the Clouds
Guilloume, Gil & Jorge - almost there (to the summit)
at cloud level
so happy to stop
'very bad hair day
(@ the summit)
beer at lunch impairs judgement
Gil's there too (see him?) - he didn't have as many beer
attention getters
"I Love You, Di!"
the mud baths were included

A new record was set on the city bus home – 22 people (21
passengers + the driver)! Where we’d sit 3 across back home, 5 would sit across
on a bench seat – we were packed like sardines.
In other news, since last blog: .... we attended a Sunday concert, with 5 Grenadian bands vying for best original song, showcasing impressive talent for an island with 100,000 people; and found fantastic roadside jerk chicken on Monday.
