What are the odds?! Sasha Quadri, myself & Sam Quadri
Our day of being tourists in Palm Beach was full of
surprises, the biggest of which was bumping into someone from back home – Dr.
Sam Quadri! What are the odds?! We had walked over to Sailfish Marina, where
he’d just come back from (next big surprise) parasailing with his son! Forever young –
you’ve got to give him a lot of points for that one J ….. he’s 75 you know ;-)
New York 1226 mi. / Key West 240 mi.
... we're getting there...
Next surprise was seeing some tropical fish for the first
time. We saw them in the water at Sailfish Marina, but we were told that you
could see them by snorkeling from a small local beach on the ICW.

After visiting Sailfish Marina, we took our dinghy over to
Peanut Island. It’s home to a bunker built for President Kennedy during the
Cuban missile crisis; but it’s most popular as another beach/picnic spot.
Peanut Island is at the center of the Palm Beach inlet.
There are just so many unique water craft in these waters….

We walked over to the ocean beach and had a very late lunch
at a pub called Two Drunken Goats, where we also enjoyed some live
entertainment provided by two guys and their guitars. Not until they stopped to
take a break, did we notice that the lead singer/guitarist only had one hand!
He was truly remarkable.
Our day was capped off with the sight of several boats
participating in a local Lighted Boat Parade (just north of us), which was
preceded by fireworks.
It was another very good day.
Today's bloopers....
... and this is in Palm Beach! ...
