Today was primarily a travelling day. We did stop at Fernandina Marina to refuel, pumpout, refill our water tanks, and dispose of garbage, before we got underway.
Florida’s ICW is much more developed than any of the other
states we’ve travelled through. Though we have caught sight of a few dolphins,
and the birds are still everywhere; we’re seeing many, many homes along the
waterway …. mainly big ones, but there are a few modest ones amongst them.
undeveloped on the other side of the canal
One of the novel sights are signs alerting us to the presence of manatees, though we haven’t actually seen one yet.
We spent 7 hr. at the helm to travel a distance a car would do in about 45 minutes!! We need rocket fuel. Things could be worse though...
a very bad day
